We hope you enjoy this month’s Around the Office as we share with you some of the exciting news happening at Rocco & Associates Wealth Management. We are always trying to build a stronger relationship with our clients and we think there is no better way to do so than to keep you informed of our upcoming events, initiatives, and general office activities.

Upcoming Events

At Rocco & Associates Wealth Management we find that the best way to engage our clients and our community is to host and sponsor local events. Approaching quickly is our Fishing & Finance event which will be held at local fishing retailer, Westport Outfitters. Westport Outfitters is located in the Saugatuck area of Westport and is owned by our Director of Business Development, Eric Johnson. Fishing & Finance will take place on July 25th, and will be an evening of barbequing and family fishing instruction. Eric will also be hosting the annual Saugatuck Cup at Westport Outfitters. The Saugatuck Cup is a charity fishing event that raises money for the Ninth Floor Foundation, which gathers funds for young people with cancer. Please check out SauagatuckCup.com for more information on the event. Finally, we are very excited to announce our Back to School event on August 15th. The event will focus on the importance of saving for higher education and raising financially aware children. Every Rocco & Associates Wealth Management event is intended to be informative and family friendly. We encourage you to please join us at an upcoming event, and don’t forget to bring a friend!

Team News

Recently our team members at Rocco & Associates Wealth Management have been giving us many reasons to celebrate. Two weeks ago Charlie Rocco, Vice President of Strategic Development, passed his state insurance exam and has received his Connecticut State Insurance Producers License. We are extremely proud of his accomplishment. Charlie is ecstatic to begin using his license and become more involved with a wider variety of our clients’ needs. Our summer intern, Joseph Petti, has been selected to attend the Deloitte National Leadership Conference at their training center in Dallas, Texas. We are very excited for Joe and congratulate him on his acceptance to this very exclusive program. He will learn a great deal about the financial services industry and will bring that knowledge back to his position at Rocco & Associates.  As our business continues to grow, we are in the process of recruiting a new Business Development Intern for the fall semester. The addition of our second intern will be instrumental in working with Eric, while Charlie juggles both work and school. Thus far we have received applications from some tremendous candidates and we are looking forward to the addition of another exceptional young individual to the Rocco & Associates team.

Initiative Reminders

One of our most important responsibilities is helping to keep our clients up to date on all aspects of their financial portfolio. Currently we are doing insurance reviews of client policies, and we encourage you to come in and meet with us or give us a call to discuss your policy. We believe these reviews will benefit our clients by helping us to keep your insurance objectives aligned with the policies you own. Please call our office and schedule an appointment to discuss your insurance needs today!

Intern Spotlight

Hi all! For those of you who haven’t met me, my name is Joseph Petti, and I am a junior at Fairfield University. I am a few hours away from finishing my sixth week with Rocco & Associates. For me the greatest part of working in our office has been the exposure to many different aspects of the financial services industry. I enjoy being thrown into different situations where I am forced to learn many foreign concepts. On any given day I could be learning the intricacies of life insurance or interviewing candidates for the fall 2013 Business Development Internship position; I had no idea how much more relaxed it is on the other side of the table!  Also, working in an office that holds client services to a near-sacred standard has given me an invaluable experience that I would never have been able to learn in the classroom. That’s all for this month, thanks for reading, and please feel to stop by the office to meet me!
